choosing a pillow
I need a pillow is a constant refrain at my house. I complain about it all the time. I have never found a pillow that lasts longer than six weeks before it starts to give me terrible headaches. I have no idea what to pick in a pillow except I cannot have a memory foam pillow, I get horrific migraines, and I can't have water filled pillows.
I tried to buy a pricier pillow last month, I spent sixty dollars, and I slept beautifully for about a month, and now it gives me headaches. I am at a terrible loss about how to find a pillow! |
Re: choosing a pillow
Is it about the support/angle, or is it about allergies/chemical sensitivities?
I can use a rolled up blanket, a pile of clothes, the cheapest pillow on sale at the cheapest store, and be fine, so I am utterly mystified. |
Re: choosing a pillow
I have the same problem! For me, it's support.

Re: choosing a pillow
It is support. I don't know of any allergies

Re: choosing a pillow
have you tried a feather pillow? that is all that has ever worked for me. dh uses the regular fluff filled stuff and if i somehow end up asleep on one i wake up and my ear hurts from laying on the "hard" pillow:shifty:shrug3

Re: choosing a pillow
:popcorn I had a pillow that I loved and had to toss recently. I HATE my new one.

Re: choosing a pillow
This is for stomach sleeping, right?

Re: choosing a pillow
Ditch the pillow completely. :yes Same issue here and my headaches and migraines are helped significantly by not sleeping on a pillow at all. Keep a nice fluffy towel or a small throw or travel blanket handy by the bed to wad up under your neck when (if) you turn on your side.

Re: choosing a pillow
Do you go to the chiropractor? I find if my neck is out of alignment, I get horrible headaches regardless of my rawk awesome (memory foam) contour pillow.
|
Re: choosing a pillow
I think my not rawk awesome pillow doesn't help my neck stay in alignment, though.

Re: choosing a pillow
Pillows are tricky. I know you've already tried it, but hear me out.
Memory foam is not all alike. We have 2. One is the perfect amount of squishiness & the other is too hard, despite them being the same brand. I hate the hard one and my 3 yo stole the perfect one. Sorry you're having such a hard time. How frustrating to have to keep buying pillow after pillow. |
Re: choosing a pillow
I have to sleep on two pillows, one stacked on the other. Have you tried that?
