Holy Skin Irritation Batman!
I'm not crazy about the pouch sling, but its what I have, and probably all I will have for at least a year. (DH uses the maclaren ssc when we're walking in the park/mall, but its too bulky and impractical for every day)
DS loves to sleep in it, but my milk is a total distraction.. He'll start rubbing his face all over my chest, shirt or not. I offer to nurse and he'll refuse 60% of the time.. Its just rooting and sucking on his hands and dragging spit all over me. I know he's only 2 months- and the drool will only increase in the next months but my skin is being digested by the enzymes and is itching and burning and red.. I know I'm not the only one- what have you done to limit the burn and keep baby in the carrier? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...DSC03827-1.jpg |
Re: Holy Skin Irritation Batman!
I did not have that particular problem, but can you maybe use some sort of ointment on your skin to heal it and provide a barrier? Or maybe a burp cloth between his face and your shirt. When DD was drooling we called them slobber towels. :shifty By the way, he is so cute.

:yes I have had the issue with lower-cut shirts and *need* to have extra fabric between ds & I (though his drooling is less now that he is actually teething...)

Re: Holy Skin Irritation Batman!
Yikes. My problem is more with the scratches my DD leaves behind as she tries to pull the skin off my neck. OUCH :D Not sure what I would do for the enzymes though. Could you layer with a receiving blanket between you and your baby?
