Paint Color Suggestions?
 

DH&I are looking to finally get some painting done to this house (we've been here over a year and just lived with it--despite it not being "us"). We are doing master bedroom first (because we are moving to a different room).

I need help finding a paint color. This is our duvet: http://www.houzz.com/photos/307587/O...modern-bedding

We have a platform sleigh-bed in a dark walnut/cherry color, and a dresser in espresso. Night stands are dark bronze-y metal and glass.
The creamy 'background' color was my first impulse, but when I looked at it closely, I realized I didn't like it (too yellow-y) for covering the whole wall.
Opposite the color wheel is purple. DH hates purple...

I would get a different duvet so that I had a different range to work from.
Let's say you positively adore yellows and greens though....

I'm having a hard time coming up with something to also match the wood in your room.
Something in the coffee with cream family?

Swiss Coffee or Cafe Ole both come to mind as possibilities and neutral depending on how light or dark you want to go. The first is a creamy, non-yellow neutral white. The second is a light, milk chocolate-y brown.

The right color of gray could possibly go well with that too. :think Behr makes a color called "Elephant Skin" that is gray with brown and purple undertones in it that I think would go EXTREMELY well. We have it in our hobby room. It is a very, very versatile color, not dark, and very.....modern/chic/vintage feeling. Personally, this would be my top color pick. :)

Ooh, I like the sound of that Elephant skin color!

I think it is Cafe au Lait instead of Cafe Ole. :lol

Are these all Behr? We love Behr paint.
Behr Swiss coffee is our go-to ceiling and painted trim paint.
I'm going to head to a store and find a sample of the elephant skin to check out ASAP--that sounds AWESOME!

Well that was a clever play on words. :giggle

Now, I had a look at the comforter. Love it!

I had gotten years ago Behr "Warm Summer" which was a lovely pale yellow. :hearts I would recommend that one too if they still have it.

I like the canvas/khaki color of the headboard in that photo.
