Pressure canning

I have stock simmering and want to pressure can it. I also have some soup I want to make and can.

I have a brand new pressure canner, I'm scared. Any tips, or suggestions or encouragement?

Well, the one time I used a pressure canner, it worked fine! :tu

Follow the instructions. Make sure you especially follow them for the sealing and unsealing parts of it. Of course. But it'll work great!

(Sooooo.....which canner did you get? We kind of want one.)

Thanks! I'm going to run a trial effort tomorrow morning with just water, as suggested in the manual.

I think this is the one I have.

I pressure canned beef broth once. It turned out awesome and I loved having bone broth on hand without even having having to thaw. Good luck! It'll turn out great!

Just follow the instructions that came with the pressure canner and you'll be fine. :)

Can I do soup? Like a chicken and coconut milk soup?

Re: Pressure canning

Yes, I would think so. Dairy typically separates and looks gross when you try and pressure can anything containing dairy products, but, since you are using coconut milk, that shouldn't be a concern. I can't vouch for aesthetics as I haven't canned anything similar to that, but it should be safe and taste just fine. :)

I just ordered the same presto canner! I hope to do the same thing, make big batches of broth that don't fill up my freezer :)
