flapjack--Granola???

Ivary this depending on the season/whats in the cupboard

Basic mix

Heat 250gm[whats that um 10 oz?] of margerine/butter or oil in a pan [we use dairy free marg
Add to the heated oil/butter 3tbs of sugar i prefer organic muscovado sugar
6tbsp of black strap molasses[optional but its a good source of iron] / honey mix today it was 2 of BSM and 4 of organic flower honey
2-3 tsp of spices of your choice,I used ginger today but you could add cinnamon/mixed spice..cardemon..
a good cup ful of mixed dried fruit[cranberries, raisins, dried coconut, goji berries]today we just had raisins

dont let it boil

Take pan off the heat and in a big bowl mix with about 500g of organic jumbo oats[any oats will do really][about 1 lb
if adding lemon juice add a good suirt to the oats before adding the fat mixture
place in an 8 inch well greased tin on medium hot[hmm 180celcius-whats that 300f???????????????]
and bake for 15-20 minutes
once out score into 8 and leave too cool
eat

Sounds yummy! And easy! I like the flexible ingredients. I bet it would double nicely too (or else it'll be gone in less than 10 minutes in my house). Do you press it into the pan or just spread it out evenly? Since I'm not totally sure on the difference between what you call flapjack and what we call granola bars in the US that would help me know how it's supposed to turn out.

I love your conversions from metric. :)
