My Iron Died

My iron died Sunday morning...now I have to get another one.

Do any of you have any suggestion as to what kind of iron you really like? I'll probably go out on Wednesday and pick one up.

Thanks!!

Ours died a few weeks ago and I replaced it with a Black and Decker Light and Easy. I bought it at Kmart for around $17 and it works great. :)

I have a Sunbeam Steam Master Drip Free. I really like it--it puts out lots of steam and is great for quilting/sewing/pants.

If you don't mind spending a bit, get a Rowenta. Best. Irons. Ever. You can sometimes get them at places like TJ Maxx for a bit cheaper than retail. I had one for almost 10 years that got dropped, so it doesn't hold water anymore, but it still works great. My mom irons EVERYTHING and that's all she uses! :)

I am no help with brands as I am in the UK but I have found it a waste of time to buy cheap irons. They stick and do not last.

I second this! I would certainly get a Rowenta if I could... Thanks for the tip about TJ Maxx.

I third a Rowenta. Costco carries them (and will replace them if there are any problems like the dropping incident or mine where the cord got melted!).

They are the best irons ever. Love mine. It steams and steams and never gets clogged, works well around buttons and whatnot, is really nice.

I only ever buy the cheap ones from the supermarkets. I tried expensive irons but they all seemed to die just outside the warranty period. The cheap irons die that bit quicker, just inside the warranty period. So I get a free replacement. Which dies just inside it's own warranty period. So I get a free replacement, which dies just inside it's own warranty period... I think I've bought one iron in 5 years ;)
