KitchenAid Mixer attachments contain lead

I found a link to a blog speaking out how a 3rd party testing lab had found unsafe levels of lead in the paddle, dough hooks and whisk attachments to KitchenAid Mixers.

There is a class action lawsuit being investigated. I know that many of you have young children and this would be a great concern for your family's health.

There are some hyper links to the news story and they do have stainless steel attachments. There is a hyper link to help you call or write an email requesting replacement parts that has gotten mixed results of getting free replacement parts.

Thank you, I didn't hear about this. My youngest has lead.

:sigh

Well, now I'm glad I barely do any baking. But I did when the kids were little.

I’ll have to look into this. I have my moms old one. No idea the brand but the attachments scrape the bowl when used- I don’t think it fits the way it’s supposed to. I always worried about metal scraping.

Has there been any update on this? I know early on some people were getting replacements but only after spending hours badgering KitchenAid. Kitchen Aid was denying the problem and expecting people to buy stainless steel attachments if they were concerned.

I was sort of hoping with time there could be an official recall forcing remedies to be provided.... Anyone heard anything more recently?

I have heard nothing from them on replacing my attachments.
