Coffee

I've been thinking about our coffee lately and how I'd like to make a change to something organic/fair trade. I picked up some Newman's Own at the store the last week. It just so happened that Dh mentioned to me on Saturday how off he was consistently feeling after having our usual brand of coffee, and I told him I bought something new to try, so we had some over the weekend. He just called me and told me to throw the old stuff out because he's now convinced our old brand had something icky in it.

So while this could go in natural health because I'm looking for an organic coffee, or finance because I'm also on a budget trying to buy fair trade, I thought I'd just put it in beverages and that should cover it. :giggle

If you're a coffee drinker, what organic, fair trade coffee do you drink? Where do you find it?

I really like Equal Exchange: http://www.equalexchange.com/, and Pura Vida: http://www.puravidacoffee.com/

Saint's Coffee is a great company too: http://www.saintscoffee.com/

Right now, though, we're buying our Fair Trade organic coffee from a local business (right in our tiny hometown, in fact): http://www.carpediemcoffee.com/

Re: Coffee

we use Camano Island Coffee Roasters. camanoislandcoffee.com They ship my order automatically. If you sign up and mention my name, I get a free delivery.

They are local to me, fair trade, organic, swiss water process decaf and shade grown. They have lots of roast choices and shipping is "free".

Re: Coffee

I have been buy something from Target that I like pretty well. I also like Starbucks. If we had a Trader Joes near by they have the best coffee and it is affordable... I do occasionally get Gevalia (mail order) but they are price for a small amount...

I can't drink regular coffee....

Re: Coffee

I use Full Circle from united grocery. I don't think it's fair trade, though it is organic. The french roast is quite good, I've not tried the others.

Yeah, we buy it right in town (they grind and bag it to-order at their warehouse). And it's closer than any stores ;) They have sooo many varieties I haven't even had the chance to try yet :yum

Re: Coffee

I've been spoiled for choice with 4 local roasters in my town from '97 onwards, and the number has only increased since then. My favourite is Supreme's fair trade organic Ethiopan blend. https://www.coffeesupreme.com/coffee/varieties.php

Though, I also like People's Coffee http://www.peoplescoffee.co.nz/ and Fuel http://www.fuelespresso.com/ (I used to nanny for the owner, it's a small town!!).

Another that we buy occasionally (also locally roasted) http://www.havana.co.nz.

We're a small town obsessed with coffee, I never stood a chance really. Neither did Starbucks, TBH!!

Awesome!! I am drooling now..... Every time I drive by there I think "I need to stop & check" and of course never do. I will now!!!! My fave is the Bistro Blend (I don't think it's fair trade, though).

Re: Coffee

Green Mountain Organic House Blend :tu

Frontier sells 4 lb. bags of whole beans for a good price when it's on sale.

I've tried Newman's Own Organic Special Blend, and that was pretty good too. Again, on sale at Frontier.

Re: Coffee

I usually buy Ethical Bean at Costco (the best price going for organic/fair trade coffee. In a pinch I'll pick up Kicking Horse at my local grocery store. For decaf I get Kicking Horse or President's Choice dark roast...depending on which grocery store I'm shopping at. My choices might be regional. I don't recognize many of the other brands mentioned and our Starbucks doesn't even carry organic and fair trad that I am aware of. Might be a :canada thing.

We like Veritas Coffee. It's like Gevalia in that it delivers to you, and you can adjust what you buy, etc.
