need easy all-in-one recipes please!

DH decided that I needed a slow cooker before the baby comes and so I got one for Christmas. I have looked at recipes but it seems that most of them call for browning meat and sometimes onions separately first. I am trying to avoid being on my feet so much and so I want to get away from browning and having an extra frypan to wash. Also, I am just not up for another learning curve at this point in life at the moment so that is why I am asking for a little help.

I was really hoping for recipes that are truly easy and quick where you put in everything you need in the morning (or it would be ok to add things in subsequently) and can cook all day until dinner time. There must be such a thing based on how I read others rave about their slow cookers.

Could you provide me with any recipes (or links for recipes) that work this way please?

Browning is totally optional; just adds color and a bit of that caramelized flavor. :yes You will be fine skipping that step.

I've never browned a roast before cooking it in a crockpot. That would mean an extra step and and extra pan to clean! I don't have time for that.

My daddy prefers it but I've never noticed a difference.

Yes, this. I watched a cooking show where they tried both methods and there was no significant difference between them.

Do you follow any particular diet? There is a chart for crockpot casseroles that gives the protein options with relevant liquids and toppings but I can't find the link right now. It is SAD ish but can be tweaked to fit your preferences. I'll try to find it later.

The Year of Slow Cooking blog is excellent - it's my go-to for my crockpot. Crockpot365.blogspot.com
