Well at least the kids like it. I'll let them finish the bottle I bought. Maybe in the future I'll be able to handle the vinegar flavor better, and can try this. I like the idea of it a lot.

you can also just try drinking a small amount each day. "forcing yourself" if necessary. after awhile you will start to really like :yes

how is your diet? is there a lot of sugar/grains in it? even "good" sugar and grains can make your body used to that taste and reject the more sour taste of kombucha. but if you start drinking it and getting your body signals back in balance you will really enjoy drinking it with your morning muffin :shifty:yes

Ditto. Next time buy strawberry. Tastes like a wine cooler. :yum

My kids guzzle it down. It's great for kids.

Ughh! I've got fruit flies. Any advice on how to get rid of them, without getting rid of the source? The Kombucha is in a jar, covered with cheesecloth, then covered with a tea towel.

you might try putting a lid on it for a while.

Is the tea towel or cheese cloth fastened on with a rubber band?

Also, one way to get rid of fruit flies is to put some apple cider vinegar in an open shallow dish. Add a few drops of liquid dish soap. The flies will be attracted, then drown themselves.

The cheesecloth has a rubber band. I've been changing the tea towels daily so the flies have less of a chance to reproduce. They don't appear to be getting in the kombucha. I will replace the towels and put a fan on them today, to see if that helps...I know if helps keep flies off of me if I sleep with a fan on (I had to do that when I lived in Brazil).

I tried a guava one today from the store. I like this one. I think I could drink this regularly if it had lots of fruit to mask the vinegar flavor. Thankf for encouraging me to try another flavor!

Now about making my own. Hmmmm...

I am making my fruity ones today!!!I did apple, grape, blueberry, and watermelon.

I was a question does it get sweeter with the fruit in it? Or is it still quite vinegary?

Re: kombucha 101 thread! *another new question #63 and 64*

it does sweeten up a bit depending upon the fruit.
