It is August so here is a new thread - even though all the days are still running together for me.

Last night we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over a firepit in our backyard.

The night before was peach and basil chicken salad.

Tonight was BLTs.

Thanks for starting the new thread...I completely forgot it was August :doh

Tonight we are having slow cooked butter chicken. I love being able to take 10 mins prep time in the morning then turning the slow cooker on for 8 hours and walking away My house smells really nice too!

We're probably having leftovers tonight unless everyone eats them for lunch. If that happens, I think we'll do breakfast for dinner.

stromboli=cold cuts

calzone=pizza

We finally got our side of beef this weekend! So many options! If I can find the skirt steak in the freezer, Prima wants me to make Steak Palomilla (she found a recipe in the latest Cook's Illustrated). We may have to wait until it gets uncovered on its own, though. Littlest asked for Mashed Potatoes, so meatballs are going on the menu.

Yes, that's it. I've been calling them stromboli's but we actually make calzones.

I have a large bowl of greens every day, with salt and olive oil and some kind of nuts or seeds. Now that I'm not harvesting them out of the garden it's not as fresh but still really good.

Tonight I might make some cheesesteaks with ground beef instead of shaved steak.

For August I plan lots of meat. I am just didn't do a lot of grill this summer and now a bit disappointed. I just had no mood for it really, we eat vegetables in a crazy quantities and all types of pasta. My husband really like carbonara, but I am more into seafood. So, the plan for Friday evening is to have a grill, hope we won't be too lazy to do that.

Last night we had Mahi-mahi with Thai Coconut Curry Sauce and a zucchini sauté.

Tonight will be these vietnamese beef and crispy rice bowls.

i think I might do the beef and crispy rice sometime with tofu for dd. She doesn't really do tofu but it might be a good foray into it.

Potato soup for tonight.
