Coconut milk whipped cream?

We are doing whole 30 and I want to make some kind of dessert for fathers day tomorrow. I was thinking of fruit with whipped cream. Is coconut milk whipped cream good? Or should I buy coconut cream? Can't use any sweeteners so it would just be the coconut milk or cream.

I think you have to use the coconut cream to make it

I re ad online about using the milk, but when I was looking at the cans I wondered if I needed the cream. I wonder how it tastes. Have you tried it?

I haven't done it, but I have a df child and I'm intrigued!

Here's a method, just coconut cream and vanilla. Another blogger says she uses Trader Joe's coconut cream, already separated, and both agree you need the cream, chilled.

(Eta) Here's the other recipe. She adds sugar, but she gives more details.

Let us know what it's like if you try it!

Adding vanilla is a great idea! Technically not allowed on whole 30 because of the alcohol but I am not worried about that. ;) I will read the links and report back!

I have made it (use the cream yes) with vanilla and honey. It was good. My son LOVED it.

Is it ok without sweeteners?

I make it with canned coconut milk. I used to stick it in the fridge and scoop off the thick stuff but lately it's already separated in the store. I've never bought cream. It looks and feels exactly like whipped cream but it tastes like coconut. Sweetener helps honestly but it's ok without it.

if you can not find the coconut cream........just cream. Stand and shake the cans at the store. pick up 2 cans that sound the thickest. Put in the fridge overnight and then dip the clotted cream out. (save the liquid to use in baking or smoothie)

Whip the cream with your mixer. I add vanilla. (if you can't use the extract, put part of a bean scraped) I add a little powdered sugar 2or 3 Tbs for the cream.

It is really, really good!

You might want to check out how to make coconut ice cream. We try to keep cans in the fridge to have on hand when needed.

We did whole 30 over Valentine's day and made "shakes" I did frozen strawberries and a can of coconut milk. Frozen very ripe bananas would also be really good.

I've made it with just the cream from a can of coconut milk. Better with Stevia though. I don't care for the limits on whole 30. They lost me at no vanilla!

This sounds really easy and yummy! Did you just use coconut milk and fruit? This could help me avoid a trip to the store for more fresh fruit!

If I never add sugar to regular whip cream would I mind using coconut whip cream with out adding sugar? I don't like sweetened whipped cream.
