Vegetable spiralizer. Keep or donate?

We eat a lot of vegetables and have a garden. But I never seen to get that thing out and use it. Should I make the effort or just donate it? Do you use yours?

I have a really nice food processor.

I use mine all the time for zucchini and carrots. I make a stir fry meal and top it in "zoodles" tossed in a splash of olive oil with a dash of ceyanne pepper and salt. :yum 4/5 of my kids absolutely love them and it's a way to get more veggies in them. I also usually just eat the zoodles with maybe 1/4 cup of rice mixed in (I need the carbs but try to limit grains).

I rarely use all those extra "things" but I do use mine to make zoodles. I also made zucch./squash chip styles noodles for the pesto pasta just for fun.

I haven't branched out of the zucch/squash realm yet but I probably should. But I do really like it for that veg.

I detest gadgets that have only one purpose. It really bugs me. But even though I don't use it very often, the spiralizer is the only way I know of to get good spiralized veggies. I'd keep it if you have room.

I love my spiralizer...but I don't use it much. :shifty Especially now that I can buy frozen spiralized zucchini noodles at Sam's Club. I totally get where you are coming from. I am keeping mine. It's a Pampered Chef one, and I spent a pretty penny on it.

I'm actually one who eats zucchini noodles several times a week. I have a veggie spiralizer that sits dormant in the back of my kitchen cupboard. In fact, you reminded me how I should pull it out and donate it.

I just use a small hand held julienne cutter. I don't like getting out the big contraption and then washing all the parts after - I find it's not worth the work. That said, in my family it's pretty much only dh and I who eat the zoodles so hand cutting doesn't take more than minute. If I had to create mass amounts for dinner I'd probably use the spiralizer more.

I donated it. I remembered how sharp the board are and I don't want my kids washing it. Thanks for all the input!

I gave away my mandolin even though I used it because my imagination can't handle those sharp blades on a speed track.

OOoh... I have a tiny little hour glass shaped thing, if it's giant I probably wouldn't keep it either!

I got rid of mine, too.

Mine was bigger than that, had lots of pieces, etc. I'm content with what my food processor can do.

The blade guard on our mandolin is fantastic for keeping fingers safe while using the thing. It's the washing up afterward that's deadly! I can't count the number of times I've managed to cut myself in the sink.

As far as the veggie noodles go, I use a little handheld julienne slicer like 2 sunshines mentioned. It's efficient, sharp, and stores easily in the drawer with the vegetable peelers.
