^ yeah it's kinda old sounding. It was very helpful for me when I had my first in 2010 and it set me on the AP/gentle parenting path, but I had to get over the outdatedness of the book. I think I would recommend an AP website (but I don't know which one) and a gentle parenting book (also don't know which one).

So I just looked and there is a revised version from 2013. But I'd be curious how much of it was changed and how.

Those are very good points, Katigre. A book might not be my best bet.

My MIL got me the La Leche League book. What do you all think about that? The nice thing is it mentions all kinds of other AP things too. :think

I had the K'tan with my first baby, then got a Sleeping Baby Productions ring sling for the second. :think

Is there a Babywearing group local to her? If so, maybe a membership to that?? That way she can try/borrow all kinds of carrier and have help with them too.

After reading reviews and watching videos, I decided on the Infantino Mei Tai Sash. If she doesn't love it she'll know better what to look for and I hope at least be encouraged to wear the baby. I do like look of the k'tan for her as well and it looked easier to nurse in, but budget won out.

That is a great choice! Much longer lasting and also can be worn front and back. If you have a local BWI chapter, I would include a note with their webpage so she would know where to go for help.
