Tuna with out soy!

The 'water' is still vegetable broth but it doesn't contain soy. I am so so excited to be able to find tuna we can eat that was only $1/ can. We have been paying more than double that I am so so excited!

The store brand is the Albertsons/ Safeway.

Now to see if my children will eat it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4d6ea9ac55.jpg

How were you able to verify that? My understanding is that "vegetable broth" in tuna can contain soy.

Looks like soy is a maybe for Starkist?

Quote:

What kind of vegetables are used in the vegetable broth?

Vegetable broth is added to some StarKist Tuna products as a flavor enhancer. The broth must consist of two or more of the following: beans (including soybeans), cabbage, carrots, celery, garlic, onions, parsley, peas, potatoes, green or red bell peppers, spinach, or tomatoes.

It used to be labled as containing soy. These don't. The store brand specify that the vegetables are pea and carrots

I order from Vitacost.com
I think I have purchased it from Thrive market as well, but you can see the label.
(they are out of stock)
https://www.vitacost.com/productResu...20catch%20tuna

This is wild caught and only salt added.

This is another brand I have bought and I am starting to see this on store shelves.

Yes wild planet is one of the brands we have been getting that only has salt added.

I will probably go back to better brands but with moving expenses and trying to find things for the girls if I can squeek the groshry budget some for the next 6 months it would really really help.

Re: Tuna with out soy!

If you can afford to spend $50 on groceries from vitacost using the code it will take $10 off................that brings the tuna down to $2.60 a can.....They also have the same type of ingredients on the pink salmon and sockeye salmon. Making them about $3 a can.

If you do the sardines (my husband enjoys those) they are almost $2 a can.

I don't think you can find GF SF tuna cheaper.

Because all of these labels say WILD caught.

I am so sorry, my husband interrupted me and I thought you were looking for a brand of soy free. (Here is is very difficult to find tuna without broth):blush This is what I get for not rereading and just skimming when he started talking.

That is fine. ( Hug) Yes it is hard to find, which is why I was super excited.
