I am not good in this area :no

We are getting ready to put the house on the market, and we are planning to replace the carpet in the living room/hall with laminate. So, what color am I wanting? Do I try to match the cabinets in the kitchen? (the living room is open to the kitchen, and the two rooms are the first thing you see walking into the front door).

Anything else I need to keep in mind? I can post a pic of the rooms, if that helps.

I wouldn't try to match anything, but simply coordinate. :)

Yeah, the 'rule' with flooring is not to match, but coordinate. That's all the help I can offer.

Are you putting in laminate "wood" floors?

I don't think you need to match the cabinets. :no I would do a medium stain I would buy whatever is cheapest, given that it's a neutral color (don't get the flaming pink hardwoods. I'm sure they exist someplace). :shrug

Seriously, you could probably put any basic wood floor color in there and it would be fine. I wouldn't go too light or too dark, but that's just me. Pick the one you like and that makes the most sense financially.

If your cabinets are yellow toned, choose a floor that's also yellow toned. If your cabinets have red undertones, look for the same in the floor.
