sounds like strep throat. Bean was sent home from school the other day with the a sore throat, strawberry tongue and a lowgrade fever. Strep is what the school nurse suspected, but she tested negative when we got to the doctor. She just had an ear infection.

Sometimes strep also comes with an interesting odd odor. Does your little one smell different than usual? Strange question, I know, but it is one of the other strep symptoms I have learned lately.
Also watch for a rash, that is another strep thing.

Hope he feels better soon.
