Default Re: What's in your "medicine cabinet"?

I try to keep elderberry syrup and colloidal silver on hand for illness. Also, thyme oil, garlic and onions (veeeery gooood for you ), something I just discovered called Sinupret http://www.bionoricausa.com/.

There is an asthma tonic that I haven't tried but am going to make this week:

Quote:
Ginger-Thyme Respiratory Tonic
( I don't really measure, but I'll try to approximate the amounts.)

~Peel and grate a big chunk of fresh ginger root.
I would say you should have at least a cup, maybe a cup and a half or
more, of grated ginger.

~Simmer the ginger in 2 1/2 - 3 cups of nonchlorinated water for about
20 minutes.

~Turn off the heat and add in a big handful of freshly cut thyme sprigs
(the more the better-- I usually try to pack as much as possible into
the pot).
You might have some growing in your garden, or maybe you can find
someone who does, but it really should be fresh. I haven't tried it
with dried-- maybe it would still work.

~Cover and let that steep for a while. I usually just forget about it
for a while and come
back to it when it's just warm and not hot anymore, but I think you
should leave it for at least 30-45 minutes.

~Strain through a cloth and squeeze as much liquid out of the herbs as
you can.

~When the mixture has cooled to about body temp, add the juice of 3-5
fresh lemons.
They should be organic, if possible, since lemons are heavily sprayed.

~Stir in honey (preferably raw and unfiltered) to taste.

~Store in a jar in the fridge and shake before using.

This is strong stuff-- it will be pretty hot, but that's good! You
could probably even use more ginger and thyme if you wanted,
but I think those are about the amounts that I used. You only need to
take a swig of it (maybe an ounce or so),
but you can take it as often as you need since it's certainly not going
to hurt anything!
And then the master tonic - search for it here at GCM and you'll find it - I can't remember where it is. I haven't made any myself yet - but I googled it and bought some to have on hand.

Those are a few things!
