Has your doctor given you a schedule on how to wean off the steroids? It needs to be cut back slowly or else it will shock the system.

With Toby's nebulizer treatment i was told to give every 6 hours as needed. On the first couple bad days i was giving it every 6 hours but after that he wasn't wheezing all the time anymore so i started to give it to him right before bed and then when needed during the day. Some days he only needed it before bed and some days he needed it more. It would look like he was getting better but the next day would be worse, so i just gave it as needed and tried not to worry about it.

I got the script for steriods but never used them myself. I didn't feel comfortable but if he didn't respond to the albuterol treatment, i WOULD have used it. Its worth the risk.

IF your baby has a mobile bed (or carseat they will sleep in) put her in the room with you when you shower (Toby liked playing in the water by my feet when i showered, but he's a bit older than your babe, i'm not sure her whether she'd be able to sit up on her own in there). Put up a humidifier (do NOT put the vicks liquid stuff in it, its bad for those with lung conditions)

If you're not co-sleeping consider it (at least in the same room). Even if you only do it while she's sick, it lowers the risk of sleep apnea for little babies.

How to prevent it in the future? Just pray. Getting it once actually increases the risk for things like asthma in the future
