I do admit I am worried how it looks that he is so behind. As an unschooler(ish), my goal is adulthood and it has taken this long to get him to a dyslexia program and this long to FINALLY get him assesed for ASD. That has been hindering him. *I* am glad that in the meantime his self esteem has not been crushed into a million pieces by peers who tease him and teachers who think he is not working up to his ability. But I do worry that this will still look like my fault somewhat because that is how it goes. If they are in the system, the kid needs more help and is not getting it. If they are not in the system, the parents have not taught him enough
The good news is that I have seen this doctor before. He dx'd AL with Autism Spectrum. And so I kind of have an idea on how the day will go and he was really good with AL. Please pray this does not become a fingerpointing thing about HS.
Oh and he is pro vax so I have to hear THAT lecture as well. He feels it is his need to alleiviate the concern that vaxs cause autism. I think I am going with "We stopped for religious reasons."
