Dh is starting a new job with a different company in a month. They offer health insurance which we will buy in to.

It's been YEARS since we've had employer offered health insurance so dumb question that I don't know the answer of -- will the new health insurance start on day 1 of employment or will there be a waiting period?

I'm trying to decide when to drop our existing plan.

He'll ask the official HR but his appt with them is not for another week and I'm just curious what the general experience with this is.
