Any tips for finding unabridged/not-dumbed-down versions of these books? All the ones I seem to find are dumbed down, for a lot of them anyway like Heidi, the Jungle Book, Swiss Family Robinson, etc- lots of classics.

Barnes and Noble has many of the classic books in an unabridged version (Sterling unabridged classic series). I bought a few of these so far. I am using them for reading chapter books aloud. My goal is to basically collect the whole set.
We are currently reading the Sterling Classics unabridged The Wonderful Wizard of Oz book. Next we will read The Wind in the Willows and the The Jungle Book.
I bought a few abridged ones for my DD (age 6 1/2) to read on his own since I don't think he can handle the vocabulary or sentence structure yet in many of them.
