You might be able to mute the sound; I have a HE top load Samsung and I can mute the little jingle. My machines are "fancy" too - I don't completely understand every setting, but I've figured out how to use the washer and dryer enough to make it work for us. The wash cycle is long for almost every setting, and the dryer even takes a long time too. FWIW, my mom has an LG front load and she really likes it. And she has done LOTS of laundry at my house recently bc she has been helping a lot with the addition of our third child. So she has enough experience to compare the two machines.[emoji6]
