I'm home now. The specialist was very kind and nice. He looked and looked at my eyes. He said he doesn't think I have wet macular degeneration but that I have what appears to be a bone growth or some other solid mass growth in my eye with a lot of abnormal blood vessel growth. There are at least 3 layers of bleeding blood vessels over the growth. He says I need to go to his office in Omaha, Ne for more testing- blood tests, metabolic work up, in depth eye ultrasound, probably surgery. He said it appears to him I've been loosing vision in my left eye for some time without realizing it because my right eye has been compensating pretty well although it's showing signs of a lot of strain now. He says he doesn't know why the bleeding showed up only now, possibly bc the growth has increased. anyway. He personally assured me he'd do everything he could to keep the costs down since financial problems would be an issue.
