Title: Speaking of "Cuddle Corner"

Please forgive me if this has been talked about already. I miss so much sometimes, just when I get caught up, something happens and then I am behind again. Any ways, how do you pharse to your child that they need a break? I need help with pharses lately, I dunno why.

It depends on the age of my child. For my 7-10 year olds, I say something like "Your behavior is showing me that you need a break alone. Please go to your room to get yourself together." For my 5 year old I say "You need a cool-down. Are you going to your room by yourself or do you need my help?" Or "You need some cool-down time. Do you want Mommy to hold you on my lap or do you want to sit quietly on the couch by yourself?" It depends on what has happened where he needs to go.

For a toddler, "You are overwhelmed. Let Mommy cuddle you here."

I often says "Sounds like you need some cuddles" or "I think you need some cuddle time' (bascially the same thing... )

for my older children I just tell them, "You need to take a break. You are (what they're doing) and that tells me you need time alone/a chance to stop your body/some cuddles from mommy/whatever depending on the child"
