I take a ton of supplements already.
So I'd like to supplement iron on more of an as-needed basis and by that I mean - since women tend to get tapped out because of menstruation, I was thinking I would just supplement during that time. But I got to thinking... Wouldn't the iron be taken from the blood when the uterine lining is being built? I mean, isn't the shedding kind of late in the process? So if I were to take an iron pill a couple days of the month should I take it during my period or more mid month?
Also, since the title of this post is kind of broad, feel free to discuss other iron-related questions/comments. For instance, I'm zinc deficient and taking a lot of zinc, which "crowds out" the other minerals copper and iron. Just an interesting factoid for ya.
