So I've been vegetarian for 4 months now, and I seriously do not miss meat at all.
The first month, I had salmon a few times, and tuna once (once at someone else's house and I couldn't find it in me to tell them I had become vegetarian, and the salmon was both at Christmas parties.) I can't say I feel loads different yet, although I've lost a bit of weight. But I plan to ease into veganism, and I really believe that when I give up dairy that is when I'm going to feel the most change.
Dairy has always been my weakness (cheese, ice cream, Starbucks
) but occasionally when I'm eating cheddar cheese it tastes like raw cow to me and I think "This came out of an animal's body" and I feel sick.
Anyhow, I suspect I have dairy intolerance and I cannot wait to give it up. I just have to set my foot down and do it. I really thought I was going to miss eating meat (to be honest, I originally didn't think my decision to go vegetarian would last
), but I can honestly say that I haven't craved or even wanted meat after giving it up.
So here's to giving up meat!
(I thought we had a wine glass avatar but couldn't find it so this will have to do instead!
)
