Even still I may use Monarch again for next year some courses because the overall positives and convenience was worth it to me and just pick out which courses we use it for.

Yes, I had one kid who was guessing on multiple choice questions just to finish more quickly.
I had to nip that in the bud.
It definitely has pros and cons. Right now, I feel so busy and overwhelmed that it's worth it for us. I am looking forward to doing more multi-disciplinary units soon, though.
My 9th grader does not like the algebra course and wants to go back to
Life of Fred. I kind of want her to read the lessons in LoF and do some of the problems, but also do some problems in Monarch because they'll get graded and go into a sort-of official grading system and transcript. We'll see.
