I have a couple of friends with a double-oven range and for the most part, they are well-liked. One friend says she uses the top oven, which is smaller primarily during the day (for reheating or smaller servings) and the larger oven for dinner, when she's cooking for more people. My parents had double wall ovens in their last house with the cooktop right next to it. I loved being able to bake two different things at the same time, but both ovens were small, so if I wanted to bake a double batch of biscuits (for our traditional Biscuits and Gravy breakfast!), I had to use both ovens to get them done in time. They also wouldn't hold the size sheet pans I use at home in my range oven, which means I can bake more cookies at once than my mom could. Having the cooktop right next to the ovens was HOT, though and made me feel a bit claustrophobic. If I had it to create for myself, I'd have at least a couple of induction burners on an island. But I cook a lot.

Wall ovens seem to be narrower in my observation. That's another reason I prefer a range.



I think if we end up hosting Thanksgivings etc I would buy an electric roaster for the turkey.
