Oh Sparrow, that sounds just plain horrible! I can defiantly understand taking a deposit and having a specified period for cleaning now.
I'm just worried about the opposite happening to me. My apartment has had so many issues. The check in sheet was completely filled out and they never came in for anything on it. I rented it from out of state without seeing it first, major mistake I will never make again!
Two of the maintence guys have said the unit needs remodeling and they can't believe the company was still renting it out. I'm afraid they will try to blame things on me because I have kids and a cat.
Like the windowsills are all water damaged and scratched up when we got here and I think they would blame it on my cat. Then the carpet had stains I listed like huge globs of wax and paint, yet they claim a profess all carpet cleaner comes in between each tenant. I am afraid they will blame the stains on my kids etc..
