I don't think they really need to be replaced every year. Mine is still fine after 8 years (it met with an unfortunate accident.) I think it's more about making money and not ticking off the fda. Keeper still says 10 years. Divas claim that you can save over $100 with the cup is absurd if you have to replace it every year.
