Yes, it is very, very true that fitness activities your don't like can become favorites over time.
There's so many options that there's absolutely no reason to start with something you don't enjoy.
The best fitness activities are ones you can enjoy on a regular basis without incurring injures. It's consistency over time that gives you health benefits and improved appearance (if that's a factor for someone). Doesn't matter how good a fitness activity is on paper. If you quit after a month because you just don't like it or it makes your knees hurt, etc, then it's not helping you.
