Thanks for the compliments girls! I used a 10mm hook and I ripped the strips very unevenly. Heh. Some of them were probably 3/4", most were 1". I had hooked half the rug and decided I would rip the rest of the strips wider, so the second half most of them are closer to 1.25" or maybe more.
Not sure how long it took. I started one evening while toddler was playing (and helping me...
), did it during nap time the next day, did it while we had visitors over for a while...and a couple more evenings here and there. Probably the same as Mandy: 5 or 6 hours including ripping.
Cro - the little ball I had left over made two starting cores for the two little slider rugs I'm going to make for DH, to prevent snow and mud from getting on the floor when he brings in firewood. Just step on the boot-sized rugs and "swish swish" across the floor.
