Default Re: A comprehensive literature list for k-3rd

I get unabridged versions at used bookstores, yard sales, and rummage sales mostly. If you check on the page with the publishing information it'll say abridged if it is (sometimes it'll say something like "unabridged" or "full/complete text" if it's not abridged) and I never buy the abridged copies I'm totally a snob about that I don't care what other people do, but it was drilled into my head by my parents when I was being homeschooled that I should *always* get the full version and I get very upset if I happen to let an abridged copy slip into my house somehow...

Great list!

DD (9) also still prefers picture books to chapter books and I know its because she's a visual learner.. Knowing this has helped me pick appropriate chapter books for her to read.. really colorful ones like geronimo stilton or comic type books like captain underpants and babymouse really helped her jump into chapter books on her own.. but she still reads picture books all the time.
