This morning I'm bringing back a Liz Taylor-style headwrap. I have a hair appointment at noon and I am NOT going to wash and style my hair before, but I have places to go and things to do. So now I look like I'm auditioning for the part of Glamorous Eccentric, vs. Schlumpy Lady in a Tracksuit.

It's just like a business card, it contains my name, phone numbers, website and email addy. So, anytime I want to give anyone my contact info, I have it handy. If I want to give them my physical addy, or my husband's cell, I write it on the back.

I'd like to bring back the Sabbath (at least in our family) where you actually prepare meals the day before, don't do chores if you can help it, focus your heart on rest and gratitude to God, and simply enjoy being together as a family, keeping it low-key and relaxing. Enjoy some corporate worship if possible, etc.

It's way too easy to get caught up in stuff that needs done around the house, etc. and treat it like a regular day to do errands, etc.

I want it to be an old-fashioned Sabbath where you truly make an effort to prepare for it, enjoy it, and REST.

I've been trying to At least get the house tidy on Friday, so it's presentable and we can relax, but then on Saturday it all gets thrown out the window.... D'oh!

Technically my parents have a parlor now , but they have opted to use it for the main living area. Stairs and 60yr old knees don't mix all the time , so going upstairs for tv was becoming quite silly.

Growing up in OR with the requirement that someone else pump your gas, it was very difficult to learn how in WA. I had such a hard time figuring it out. Wish all gas stations offered pumping service.

I'll second & third the desire to bring back long dresses and aprons.

Great thread!
