Default Sore tail bone - update p6 yay!

A couple of weeks ago I went to an awards night which was sooooo much longer than I expected. Sat in a hard chair for way too long... and ever since I have a sore tail bone... not all the time but I notice it after sitting.

Are there any exercises I can do to get it all sorted again?

Do you think you may have bruised it/something in that area? Especially if you only notice it while sitting.

Maybe get DH to apply some pressure and massage it out a bit?

When my lower back hurts, I like to stretch open the muscles in my legs, as I find that tends to stretch into that back tailbone area. You could try some simple poses like these (try to keep your spine straight):

http://burtongirls.com/wp-content/up...111012_281.jpg

http://www.barefoot-running.us/wp-co...scentLunge.jpg (switching so the other leg is out front as well. Go slowly and bend into the weight of the legs so you feel the stretch in different areas of the upper legs/groin)

http://farm8.static.flickr.com/7092/...51ca8f7f6e.jpg (go gentle on this twist! and definitely make sure your spine is straight before you turn. Your other leg doesn't have to be straight, do whatever is comfortable for you. It feels good on the lower back for me.) You don't have to twist so far either. http://lovemyyoga.com/images/Half%20...e%20Fishes.jpg

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_QoVgux39GW...+Baby+Pose.jpg This one is nice, gets your tailbone off the ground and really stretches the butt/thighs/tailbone area. You can move your legs around, closer together, more in front, etc to change where you feel the stretch.

If it's a more serious problem, stretching around might be of no help, but for just some discomfort, I really like those!

Oooo excellent, thanks! I will try these when I get back from the school run. I don't think its serious, just probably out of place somehow... same kind of soreness/pain as when you have a stiff neck.... just in my tail bone instead.

I am probably more prone to tail bone issues from time to time as I have lordosis (sway back).

Ok... my hips don't like the first one, but I shall be trying the others to see if they help. I'm afraid I don't do the nice serene expressions of the model.

Mostly I did the happy baby thing... felt really silly doing it, by the way... and I've awoken this morning feeling a whole lot better! Pain is not completely gone but it sure has improved from what it was since that awards ceremony.

I'm remembering that happy baby pose... really useful stuff!! Thanks!
