Mole removal on head
How would I go about removing a mole on the back of my head without causing some type of hair loss? It's a large mole. I've used ACV on a cotton ball for 8hrs at a time under a band-aid to shrink other moles but am a bit skittish to attempt this with this mole. Any thoughts? I have insurance and could just have it removed I suppose. It's more of a nuisance than anything. Just wondering if anyone has dealt with this.

Dermatologist or even a plastic surgeon.

Re: Mole removal on head
Depends what type of mole. If it's a tag type they might just freeze it off (I had that done to one on my neck) and it just falls off after a few days. I don't think that would affect hair loss permanently. It was just my family practice doc.
My dd has one on her head but it's more fleshy and had hair follicles in it. I suppose they would cut it off and then stitch so there wouldn't be a bald patch? I need to take her in. |

Re: Mole removal on head
Why do you feel it needs to be removed if it's covered by hair? (Honest question, not snarky or rhetorical. I'm genuinely curious.)

Re: Mole removal on head
I have one like that as well--- I think I'm going to have it removed while on maternity leave. I don't know about the OP, but (for me) in response to Mommylove's question......I often scrape/scratch it while combing out my hair--
I am fully thinking that in it's place, there WILL be this little "bald spot" (like smaller than the diameter of a pencil eraser).......but it's already "bald" anyway because there's just a mole there, right?? |

Re: Mole removal on head
I had one removed (by my dad ) on my head. It was pretty big, bigger than a pencil eraser, and it hurt to comb/brush. He just numbed me, cut it off and stitched it shut. I don't think there's an obvious bald spot at all - it was on the right side of the top of my head. The worst part was being a teenager and not washing my hair for three days. It has been soooooo much better without it.

Re: Mole removal on head
It's huge and bothers me. Removal is purely a personal motive. Lol
