question about ovulation and menstration

Please move if this is not the right place.. I have been breastfeeding for 13 months now and still have not started my period. I know other women on the board have said that they didn't start until around 16-17 months after giving birth so I am still in a normal range. I wanted to know if anyone who is having or has had this happen to them felt like they were going to start (pms, back-pain, cramping..ect ) I have had those symptoms for 3 months in a row now and still nothing..Already checked if I am pregnant and that is a no..I don't know if my hormones are still trying to adjust or what and it's frustrating me for about 3-5 days out of the month. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks

might just be gearing up for menstrual return.

That happened to me for a few months before my period actually came back. I think it was 15 months pp when it actually returned.

Hi souporrfly,

It took 21 months for cycles to return for me, and 24 months for my sister, and both of us have been breastfeeding our toddlers. I, too, for many months had cyclical cramping (ie I had what seemed like pre-menstrual cramps once a month), and often thought, "This has GOT to be Aunt Flo coming back!" but it wasn't! My cycle finally did come back 6 weeks after I night-weaned my son.

I also had pms type symptoms for a few months before af started again.

Yup, ditto everyone else. I just got my PPAF back TODAY

at 21 months post partum, and I had menstrual-like cramps and breakouts every few weeks for a few months beforehand.
