Re: a mop that really cleans the floor
I don't use an indoor broom except for a dust pan, but only for spot cleaning dry things. So I meant I vacuum our tile floors to clean them normally. Except for all around under our table and chairs that I wipe up.

Re: a mop that really cleans the floor
True! I forgot about the kinds of vacuums that can be used on tile floors. My mom has one like that, but it is with a central vac system, meaning there is a big hose to haul out every time you use it. Not very practical!

Re: a mop that really cleans the floor
I like the Shark for its ease of use. I can also use it to clean the stone in my shower walls, which is cool. But, it has its drawbacks.
I have found that when I use my Shark mop, no matter how many times I go over the floor, or how many pumps I give, I end up still getting tons of dirt on my cloth if I go back and wipe the floor on my hands and knees. I have stone floors though, so it is possible that it is just harder to get the dirt out of the pores and such. The Shark also leaves streaks and I think it ate the seal off our stone, so we need to have that re-done. The pump handle just broke off of mine as well! I need to find something though, because scrubbing as much stone as I have on my hands and knees gets harder every year.

Re: a mop that really cleans the floor
we have all wood floors except the kitchen is some kind of vinyl or linoleum. dining room is original hardwoods and the rest is that wood laminate stuff. except, like, the stairs have carpet, and the closets for some reason.
my only annoyance with the shark mop is that i have to use distilled water or else it leaves deposits and will ruin it. and make sure if you buy one that its the "pocket" mop, not the cheaper one. i have heard the cheaper one is just no good.

Re: a mop that really cleans the floor
i liked my swiffer but suspected it was dulling my floors from residue.....also i love that the steam sanitizes my floors. i dont allow shoes in the house (except my husband who totally ignores this rule because apparently it doesn't apply to him ) so it makes me less freaked out about the kids picking up dropped food, mouthing toys, etc.
