boogie boards (electronic drawing pads) that stand up to kids
I want to get one for my 4yo. It needs to be tough! I also want it not to be tiny. Ideally it would have several border colors to choose from so I can get them for my other kids, too, and tell them apart. Suggestions?

Check your local thrift store! Seriously, I just found a boogie board Sync for $13. I did several happy dances.

Re: boogie boards (electronic drawing pads) that stand up to kids
We have both generations of original Boogie Boards - you definitely want the newer ones with the replaceable battery. Our batteries have lasted less than a year. My only quibble with the newer board style is with the stylus holder- the design makes it tempting to wiggle and play with and my littlest eventually succeeded in snapping the plastic. (We tried to keep it away from her, but the temptation was too great.)
Staples is carrying them now! You can see firsthand. I think there are only two colors for real Boogie Boards - the larger ones that have a replaceable battery come in pink and blue. There's a multicolor "ink" version that comes with stamps, like a magnadoodle that is nearly the same size but with a chunkier frame. The see-through tracing ones (that are great for little hands) only come in one color and are significantly bigger. The little mini ones are cute and easy to carry around, but last I checked the battery was not yet replaceable.
