How Talented Would I need to be? (Wool Soakers)
To *KNIT* a wool soaker. I have made some newborn soakers out of wool from old sweaters...But I need some thing that will fit a baby approx 13-20lbs (so about 6weeks to 1 year if this baby grows along the lines of her [his] sisters).
Can any one recommend a pattern? Are there any BTDT's I should know about? Is it difficult? I know the basics knit/pearl stitches and I have used a circular needle, but I'm a fairly new knitter. I'm looking for a fun baby project that would be a change from sewing (of course it'll give me an excuse to always have a project going :greedilyrubbinghandstogether )

All of mine are out of diapers, but I'd still love to learn.

Re: How Talented Would I need to be? (Wool Soakers)
This is a great soaker. I first knit it when I was a pretty beginner knitter myself and I had no troubles at all.
If you're on Ravelry, this diaper wrap is ridiculously easy to knit and works as well as a soaker; I just use a Snappi with mine instead of adding velcro or buttons.

Re: How Talented Would I need to be? (Wool Soakers)
Pretty easy as long as you can knit in the round. I don't know if the PP linked to the Curly Purly soaker, but that's a good free soaker pattern.
My problem with soakers is getting bored...I'm a process knitter, I hate knitting the same thing twice. Posted via Mobile Device |

No talent needed, just time, confidence and youtube for stitches you're unfamiliar with. Curly purly was the very first thing I knitted I like the Vanilla too, but as an INTJ, the instructions drive be batty.

Re: How Talented Would I need to be? (Wool Soakers)
It was easy enough forme as a beginner. At least the part I did was. I uh don't like big projects that take lots of time.

Re: How Talented Would I need to be? (Wool Soakers)
This was the one I made, but check your gauge! I didn't and it was waaaay too small. Then I resized the pattern and made a bigger one.
http://www.tinybirdsorganics.com/soa...ern/index.html She also has a free longies pattern. I am a novice at knitting and all I know is knit/purl. Also, I hate doing DPNs (though you do need them to put legs on the soaker- but it's only a few rows! You can also crochet these)

Re: How Talented Would I need to be? (Wool Soakers)
The Curley Purley pattern drove me nuts. Keeping track of where to drop the purls. I like the Frantic Mama Pattern.
