Re: D. R. P. T. ! (dietary revamp processing thread ;) )
I usually was able to get rid of "hmmm, sweet craving coming on!" with a larabar, or a big spoonful of coconut butter or even a big spoonful of coconut oil.
mmmm avocado. I think I'll have oen of those tonight! Sorry, Andrea I know it's hard to stay straight on the Whole30, I won't post anymore delicious recipes

Someone tell me why I'm afraid of larabars
I'm afraid of anything new with regard to food. It's ridiculous, as a grown adult. |

Re: D. R. P. T. ! (dietary revamp processing thread ;) )
because dried dates look like cockroaches?
I've had so many things ot dates go bad because I bought them and said I'd try them and then chickened out. Same with Kale to make kale chips. kale chips are my new favorite food! Buy one and try it. Cashew cookie is a good place to start. Or if you can find the fudge brownie with no chocolate chips, that's awesome, too. Or if you're not doing the whole30 and can have a little sugar, get one with chips. Trust me. There's no going back once you try them

I've found it difficult to compare precisely but after going through a long streak of making Lara bars last spring I became unsure if making them VS buying premade ones was actually saving me any money. Its fun to experiment with flavors but my kids like the packaged ones better of course

Mmmmm... We ate the simple red curry that musicmama posted, over cauliflower "rice" tonight, and yum! so good, and it made a lot, so for once we have leftovers. I added zucchini and snowpeas.

Is that not how much they are for most people? I can get our Lara Bars at a local grocery store for $1 each or $1.10 max.

I think the retail price is $1.29 or so though, it's something that's frequently discounted fortunately.

Larabars are 1.79 here. I like the pecan pie one and the apple pie was ok but the others I tried weren't very good.

They range from 1.39 to 1.69 here...depending on the kind, not sure why though. The last time they were $1 at Kroger I stocked up, but then I read the moldy thread and haven't opened one since.

Re: D. R. P. T. ! (dietary revamp processing thread ;) )
There was a moldy thread about Larabars?
Ours are $1.79 too, but I found them for $1/each in cases on sale at a big supermarket and bought 5 boxes. And now I like my homemade ones better. |
