I go with the "I do not understand what you are saying" response. DS isn't too terrible about whining, but there's a kiddo I work with who has ASD and when he doesn't get his way he starts baby talking... something I cannot stand! The quickest way to get him past it and keep myself from getting irritated is to just calmly tell him, "I do not understand you when you talk like that." After repeating myself a few times, he reverts back to his regular speaking voice, he's exasperated at me, but he doesn't baby talk to me anymore.
