How To Talk to Church About AP?

I ask moms what they want. I've had moms complain that they just want an hour to themselves and don't want to deal with their screaming kid I suppose I can see that, if you trust that the people you are leaving your child with are going to take care of them. I've had moms say get me if they whimper, and I pretty much do lol. I'm glad that mom didn't feel bullied into keeping their kid in the nursery if she wanted to get him.

I finally had a chance to talk to the pastor's wife. She said, yes, the church does have a policy. The mom fills out a card that states how long the child should be allowed to cry before calling her to get her child, and the nursery workers are supposed to go by that.

That particular day we had a lot of visitors and the system didn't work quite right -- the mother didn't get called as soon as she should have because the person who does that had some technical issues trying to figure out how to get it done.

But the usher trying to persuade the mom to leave the child isn't supposed to happen, she said, and she plans to address that with the ushers in the next week (there's a meeting planned anyway). She thanked me for letting her know that it happened -- not like a polite, diplomatic thank you, but as if she was sincerely glad to have that information.
