Quote:
I use cloth pads for backup and I pour the "water" on plants or lawn that comes from soaking the pads.

I wouldn't save it, I think it would get so very nasty, judging from how my container smells after sitting for only a few days...
This and my plants look wonderful when I do it! They were not nearly as happy during pregnancy and lack of periods from breastfeeding.

Wow! What a topic name!! I was scrolling threw new posts and went by this one and I turned the mouse into reverse as fast as I could and HAD to see what this was about!

I'm quite interested! I would easily pour my Diva cup into a glass jar and then into my plants! I could also do the pad soaking water method too! I use both, whenever I have periods...which by the way is very rare since I keep getting pregnant.

Oh there was no smell, no bugs. I don't think menstrual fluid is as "dirty" as it is made out to be anyway. Nobody in my neighborhood knew why my plants were so pretty and they didn't ask, so I didn't tell.

I could see using my soaking kettle water in my garden. In the past 5 years, I've only had 4 cycles, so I've not had much chance to consider it!

Would it run the same risk as composting with meat (a no no because of the toxins/disease)? Or does it not contain the same toxins as decomposing flesh?

That I don't know, but it might be different if you are dealing with a liquid which readily absorbs into the soil vs. something that actually has to break down and undergo more decomposition.

A couple of the plants in question are in the background. Sorry you can't see them better.

I'm thinking I might be comfortable putting it on decoration plants, but maybe not edibles.

Yes. I over-analyze everything.

If you do it just be careful not to get it on the plant and only put it onto the soil. Google will reveal the whole alternative fertilizer subculture.

I'd much rather use that than blood meal. You don't want to know where blood meal comes from.

My dad put blood meal around the perimeter of his garden to repel deer. If I were going to do this, I would store it in the freezer...with a Mr. Yuk sticker to keep my hubby away.

Generally, it was always used the same day here, not a need for special storage.

I've thought about doing this, but the whole dh thing has made me question it. But the possibility for a natural deer repellent has me really intrigued
