How to Clean a Gas Cooktop?

Hello,

We are moving into a new home and it has a gas cooktop. I have never had gas before. The other problem is that it is pretty grimy

Can anyone suggest how I clean it? I would need to clean the cast iron bits as well as the burners and the stainless steel surface. Is there anything in particular that I should or should not use?

And, going forward, how do I clean it on an ongoing basis? Are there any tricks?

I use a steal wool scrubber on the cast iron with regular dish soap in the sink, ecover spray on the top, and just water and a cloth to clean that little doodad that creates the spark.
