My daughter likes garlic in: pasta with pesto, red sauce for pizza and pasta, mixed in meatballs and hamburger, with oil and salt on sourdough.

Onions: diced on pizza or burritos, coarsely chopped along with carrots and potatoes roasted with chicken (I use the drippings and some of the onion for gravy) and in soup (Italian wedding soup or chicken noodle/rice/gnocci) and occasionally diced and raw

Oh, and shallots. I use those in salad and she will sometimes go for that (with a lemon/honey/oil/S&P dressing) along with chicken and sometimes berries. Or made into gravy.

My kiddos love fermented foods like sauerkraut, pickles, carrots, and onions! They love to participate in the fermenting process, too. It's super easy to start with veggies. All you need is clean salt, a jar with a tight lid, clean water, and veggies of choice!

ETA: Traditional Cooking School website/blog/podcast has tons of information on how to do it easily!
