Favorite diapers for a 12mo heavy wetter?
We've always just used infant diapers in the past (the ones for 7-15 lb supposedly) They have worked fine on my kiddos until they get out of diapers (15 months- we ec). But my 12mo, 24-lber is leaking through the infant prefolds quite a bit. We also have the baby-length toddler prefolds (red edge) and those work somewhat better but still not great. The regular toddler prefolds are ridiculously long.
So what do you use on your heavy-wetting toddler? I'm interested in daytime and night time solutions. At night we keep him in a wool cover and that helps a lot (though personally I think they are a pain to take care of).

I have a feeling I'll be wondering the same thing when my fifteen pound two month olds hits that weight.

I had a 12 month old 24 lber too. His overnight diapers were called Pampers!
Day time I used Fuzzi Bunz pretty much exclusively so I could stuff as I needed. I couldn't keep up with prefolds with him.

The bamboo cotton blend prefolds from nicki's diapers hold a ton. I'm using them inside bumgenius but they would be great on their own too. They are staying soft unlike all the other cotton ones I've tried.

The overnight diapers from seventh generation work really, really well. I order mine from amazon or diapers.com

Re: Favorite diapers for a 12mo heavy wetter?
I use 2 different diapering methods with my 15 month old. She's always been a heavy wetter. Kawaii has awesome overnight diapers - they are pockets with two microfiber inserts. My second method is a regular sized prefold with a Flip stay-dry insert on top of the prefold, all in a Flip cover. That works very well for my DD right now, for both day and night.

You can hem the blue edge prefolds for less bulk.
Are you using used diapers? I found that by the third baby in the prefold they had thinned out quite a bit in terms of their absorbency and I ended up buying new prefolds. Sent from my Android phone using Swype |

I like hemp and bamboo for overnight. My heavy-wetting 9 m/o wears either a Crickett's hemp fitted with a few hemp doublers, or a tots bots bamboo fitted with a few hemp doublers, all under woolies.

I used what we called the "bulletproof " insert. It was Chelory brand and like 437 layers of hemp. Well, it was a lot anyway.
We'd stack that thing with two mf inserts on either side and stuff it in a pocket with leg gussets. |

Re: Favorite diapers for a 12mo heavy wetter?
When mine started soaking through everything at night, I ordered some hemp inserts (I use BG 4.0s). I've bought 2 brands of them, and I like the ones from Babykicks called Joey Bunz the best. Before that, I double stuffed the diapers with the standard microfiber inserts.

I have been doubling up inserts since my Panda was about 6 months. I have bumGenius mostly and one large and one infant insert does the trick for us.

Interesting about the hemp inserts. I've tried the Babykicks help inserts and my DD wet straight through them, like there wasn't even an insert there.

They take a bit to prep, and also you have to pair mf with them because they are slow to soak. So mf for the innitial flood, and hemp to add absorbency without bulk.
