Ikea silverware? Or any silverware recommendations?
I need some more silverware (ie flatware- I don't want actual silver but I always call it silverware even though my home ec teacher taught me better). Anyway, I was looking at the Ikea Dragon set, $20 for a four place setting set. I'd need 2 sets. Or is there something else I should consider? I want something heavy enough not to feel cheap, hard enough not to get bite marks in it or bend easily, and nothing too fancy- I'm more of a plain kind of person. Also it needs to be stainless steel and dishwasher safe.

I don't know if these stores are in your area, but I've always had great luck finding those types of things at Ross and TJMaxx/HomeGoods. They aren't the newest styles but they usually have great quality items at a good discount.

Re: Ikea silverware? Or any silverware recommendations?
I like the Oneida sets. I purchased mine with Betty Crocker box top points back when we were first married. I like the timeless styles and that I can get serving pieces when my budget allows.
We always run out of spoons, and I buy those at thrift stores -- all different styles mixed up. I keep those in a mug on the counter. I'm kind of homey and cluttery, so this wouldn't work for everyone. It irks me that new stainless seems to all be made in China whereas my old stuff is USA. I think I'm just extra irky and grumpy right now. peace, tessiemae |

We have a couple of these sets (not the exact pattern, but this brand) we received as wedding gifts 8 years ago and they have held up well. They would be a great deal right now since they are on sale for $19.99 and there is a code (27654265) to get an extra 20% off home purchases through tomorrow.
