Houston and other moms in the areas affected by Harvey, are you safe? Let's keep these families and that area in our prayers. I'm reading that the devastation may be extensive.

We are north of the city in The Woodlands - about 45 minutes from the city center. Where we are is okay so far; there are a few areas with small flooding, but nothing threatening to homes. We will have worse flooding by the time this is over, though, since we haven't had weather this bad in the 3 years since we moved here we don't really know what to expect.

The two other mamas that I know of in the area are okay as far as I have seen on FB.

Things are going to get worse before they get better, however. At least another 1-2 FEET of rain are expected before this is over. The path they expect the storm center to take will come right over our area around Wednesday if the forecasting models are correct.

I have been praying.

All my family ( dad, fill& mil and my brother's in-laws) are officially cut off in southern brazoria country.

I don't like hearing do much about 'home' on the national news.

A dear friend has flooding. They are ok- staying on the secind floor of their house with some neighbors who have 1 story homes. Her name is Julia if tou want to pray- she is a fellow china adoption mom.

We are okay. There was no water in our home. We were cut-off for a few days, and did have to move our goats from their pasture into our garage. We only have two right now, so it wasn't a super big deal.

Now we are mostly trying to stay busy helping others who were more severely impacted, balancing work schedules with the fact that kids don't return to school until September 5, and cleaning up from being trapped in the house for upwards of 3 days.
